Come as you are.
Leave even better.
Hi! I’m Devon, a professional psychotherapist in Exeter. I am passionate about working with adults, teens, and couples who are looking for therapy that actually works.
With a focus on modern, cutting-edge therapeutic techniques (like EMDR, ACT, IFS, and Gottman Method), I am dedicated to helping you find your balance and overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relational issues.
Say goodbye to traditional counselling. This is modern therapy for the modern client who is navigating an incredibly complex world.
Imagine a day where you wake up well-rested and free from worry. You go about your day making decisions that align with your values, and feel confident in yourself. You’re connected to your loved ones in a way that feels safe and secure. Your outlook on life is positive and you genuinely feel a sense of hope and gratitude.
This is the good life – and it’s my mission to get you there.
As an American therapist, I bring with me a wealth of experience and knowledge from a culture where therapy, counselling, and life coaching are widely accepted and embraced.
So, whether this is your first time seeing a therapist or you’ve tried therapy before, I can assure you this will be a unique experience.
I’m not just your therapist, counsellor, or coach, I’m your biggest cheerleader.
I’ll be there to celebrate your victories, pick you up when you stumble, and remind you of just how amazing you are because, chances are, you’re pretty freaking awesome.

About Me
Hi, my name is Devon McGahey and I’m the no nonsense, ‘lets get down to business’ professional therapist you’ve been looking for.
You’re busy, and your resources are incredibly valuable. My approach is directive and practical, and it works. I want to see quick wins and get you moving in the right direction as quickly as possible.
I hold a Bachelors Degree from Auburn University and a Masters Degree from Troy University in Alabama, USA. (Comparable UK qualifications: RQF Level 7 / SCQF Level 11 / CQFW Level 7 Master’s degree).
I trained at a private practice in America starting in 2020 and made the leap to running my own practice in the UK in August 2023. I’m trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 2 and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, certified in Maternal Mental Health, and have a special interest in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), Attachment Theory, and Ego-State Interventions.
I am currently undergoing training in EMDR, an extensively researched psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences.
