5 Small Ways to Prioritise Your Wellbeing This Week
… and how we can help!
Your health and wellbeing is a priority, after all, you can’t fill from an empty cup. Take this as a subtle nudge to bring your focus back to self to ensure you’re filling up your cup.
1. Take a mindful pause – this doesn’t have to be more than a few minutes. Allowing your mind and nervous to reset can help to keep you grounded, more alert and less activated. At a minimum, do nothing for 2 minutes. No phones, no distractions, just sit for 2 minutes. This brings the Default Mode Network back online which is responsible for problem-solving, self-reflection, and future planning. Check out some treatments from our Holistic Therapists to support you in these restful wake resets.
2. Move your body – a walk, stretch, or massage is enough. Did you know that just 5 minutes of walking after a meal can help to regulate your blood sugar, which in turn supports your cortisol levels (stress hormones). If you want to book in that long-overdue massage, check out our team of physios and massage therapists.
3. Connection – we are social beings, always have been and always will be. It’s incredibly important that we’re fostering those connections as pack animals. Call a friend, book in a therapy session or join a supportive and local group.
4. Create a calming space – as the evenings being to draw in and days are turning colder, it’s a great time to ensure you have a quiet, calm space to aid in calming the mind. Grab a cosy blanket, light a candle, and allow for some “me time”. Bonus points for zero distractions! If you can’t find a corner to make your own, join us in one of our beautifully relaxing therapy spaces.
5. Listen to your body – aches, pains, fatigue, and tensions are signals. Prioritise your body and understand the message. Not sure where to start? Speak with one of our hands-on therapists for more support.
Now, fill up that cup and get back to it!
