Growth is Beautiful
Here’s an unpopular opinion: I am learning to love the cringe that is looking back at my old social media posts or comments, reading my old journals, or listening to old videos I’ve sent friends and family. Why? Because as awkward as we may have seemed, this signals growth.
Think about it – what if you looked back at your Facebook page (or dare I say MySpace??) and thought, “Oh man, I was so cool.” Or “Yep, that’s still what I would say/do/think.” This would signal a lack of growth, change, and worldly experience.
Change is beautiful. Growth is undeniably beautiful.
So, in the spirit of growth and change, I’m hyping myself to admit that running a virtual-only therapy practice just IS NOT my jam. Don’t get me wrong, I love the flexibility of working wherever and whenever I like; however, by nature, we are social beings. We need that interaction. We need the sense of togetherness. And to be honest, I just really freakin’ miss the opportunities to sit down in a calm, quiet, dimly-lit room with a warm cup of tea and feel the connection and safety with my clients. It really is that important to me.
So, as if I don’t have enough to keep me busy, I am going to push myself even further for you (and selfishly for myself!) to open up a new space to offer face-to-face therapy sessions in Topsham, England. I am hoping to have my new space in Topsham within a few weeks and will be able to offer in-person therapy and life coaching, as well as continue with virtual therapy and coaching for those who wish to stay online.
My goal is to make the space warm, welcoming, safe, and beautiful. I am working out logistics such as parking (if you know Topsham, you’ll understand!) and aim to be ready to start seeing my lovely clients in person by the end of September!
Thank you to all of my clients who have hung in there with me as I work to find us a space that is suitable in terms of location, privacy, parking (again, eek), and potential.
Stay tuned, my dears!
